They're Playing Our Song

This is one of the most corny love lines of any movie, and yet still sweet. Have you ever have a special song that had significant meaning for you and your loved one? I don’t mean necessarily that the words of the song applied to your relationship or anything, but maybe you just remember it being played at a special time, or you in some way connect it to your dating days. My husband and I had several, but there was always one particular song we claimed as ours. Every time I hear it now I am drawn back to a special date.

Is your love worth it ?

I was sitting at a fast-food table enjoying my"lunch". Nothing extraordinary about that...What was overwhelming was the stream of thoughts coming to my mind on that particular occasion. There I was, eating my order and watching the crowd moving continously to and fro. I seemed to concentrate my curiosity on those couples that were hanging out...just passing or stopping for lunch too. And I couldn't help wondering : How did they come across one another ? How long did it take for them to finally form that magical, interesting and intimate couple ?

Save the Memories

What’s a good way to save the early romance of a relationship? Well, this might sound odd, but I’d put scrap-booking high on the list. I know, I know, scrap-booking is for those old ladies you see in hobby stores filling their carts with shaping scissors and glue sticks. It summons to mind images of old people thumbing through dusty books of photographs and souvenirs from trips taken decades ago; there doesn’t seem to be anything remotely romantic about it. But actually there is.

Fighting For Love?

Ok, everyone has probably heard this myth: fighting with your partner actually strengthens rather than damages your relationship. Its an idea that’s been touted by pop psych shows and self help books for so long now that its generally accepted as common knowledge, right?

Love At First Sight: A Myth?

I've heard it said that "love at first sight" exists. I disagree. I believe that chemistry at first sight or lust at first sight runs rampant in today's society, but when it comes to "true love" at first sight, I honestly believe some people have their head in the clouds. Sure, it makes for a great poem or romantic movie line or novel, but in this world of reality, even the very concept is disproved bythe very definition of love.

The Dance

The music starts playing and the song is slow and rhythmic. I lean in and ask.."would you like to dance?". She smiles and says, "yes". We both stand and start walking to the dance floor. She walks in front and reaches back for my hand, which I take in mine. It amazes me that just the touch of her hand makes me smile.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
